Frequently Asked Questions
What is your return policy?
We hope you love our candles as much as we do, but if you’re not 100% satisfied with your purchase, we would love to make it right! Please contact us within 30 days of receiving your order to get the process started. We offer a refund or replacement for any orders returned to us unused and in their original packaging. Please note that we are unable to refund any original shipping costs, and as a small business we are currently unable to cover the cost of return shipping.
What if my order was damaged in transit?
If your order arrives damaged, then please contact us within 48 hours including your order number and proof of damage and we will arrange a replacement for you. Please avoid leaving packages outside where possible, especially in summer, as the heat may cause the candle to melt and leak!
Can I send my order as a gift?
Absolutely! All you need to do is change your shipping address to the gift recipient’s address. We are always happy to add a special, handwritten note to the order at no extra charge. If this is something you would like, then let us know that the item is a gift and add what you’d like us to write in the “additional notes” section on your shopping cart and we will take care of the rest. We don’t include printed invoices in our orders, so the recipient won’t see the purchase amount.
Can I change/cancel my order?
If you need to make a change or cancel your order then please email us ASAP at info@wyerivercandleco.com.au, include your order number and whether you’re wanting to change/cancel the order in the subject line so that we can pick up on it quickly. If we haven’t already processed your order, then we would be happy to make any changes you need. We aim to ship all our orders within 1-2 business days.
Do you offer wholesale?
Definitely! If you have a store or small business and you’d like to stock our candles, please get in touch and we will follow up with you shortly.
Do you offer discounts on bulk orders?
We sure do, if you’re wanting to make a bulk order for our products, then please contact us for some bulk pricing info with price breaks. Some examples of larger orders we gladly accommodate are candles for events, as wedding favours or to burn in your spa/salon/hotel.
Do you ship internationally?
At this stage we only ship to addresses within Australia. If you’re wanting to purchase from overseas, then please get in touch and we will try to sort something out.
Why do you blend coconut & soy wax?
As you may know, many of the waxes available are not sustainable and are not good for our health.
Paraffin wax is made from fossil fuels and comes with many problems, it emits toxic fumes and heavy soot when burnt, and of course fossil fuels are major contributors to climate change.
Soy wax is a renewable and natural product but can often be farmed unsustainably.
Sustainable soy is available however, and when grown sustainably soy is an excellent wax. The soy wax in our candles is both sustainably sourced and non-GMO.
Coconut wax is one of the most sustainable waxes available, coconuts do not require any pesticides or fertilisers to grow and are often harvested by hand!
Coconut wax has excellent scent throw capabilities and is very slow burning, but it has a very low melt point which can make things difficult when transporting candles, especially in the Australian heat. That’s why it’s best used when blended with soy wax, which has a higher melt point, so you can get the best of both worlds!
Both coconut and soy waxes are clean burning, they do not emit any toxic fumes and give off very little soot, so you can kick back, relax, and enjoy your candle knowing that it’s better for you and the planet.
Why do you use wooden wicks?
Wooden wicks are the most environmentally sound choice for candles.
Cotton, despite being a natural resource, requires large amounts of water to grow and if it’s not grown organically, it also requires lots of pesticides, insecticides and fertilisers which are toxic to the environment.
Cotton wicks are often dipped in paraffin wax and other harmful chemicals to promote an easy light, making them an unsustainable choice.
Our wooden wicks are sourced safely and sustainably, from suppliers that have the FSC registration. They are all natural and treated with a clean burning agent.
