Candle Care
Taking proper care of your candle will help you get the best experience and value from your purchase. We highly recommend following each of the following steps:
- Trim your candle's wick to approx. 3mm before each lighting or once your candle has cooled.
- Use a wick trimmer, or your fingers to gently break off the burnt edge, then carefully discard. Do not leave any ash or debris in the candle jar. Never attempt to trim a wick when it’s burning, or when it’s still hot.
- Allow the wax to melt to the edges of the jar during each burn to prevent tunneling.
- Once the candle's reached the end of it's life, we hope you'll re-use the jar. Clean it out and you've got a new planter or pencil holder – or whatever you want!
Safety first - because candles contain a small flame, we strongly encourage following these safety guidelines:
- Never leave a candle burning unattended, near a draft, or in reach of children or pets.
- Don't burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Do not allow your candle to burn to the base of the jar.
- Do not pick up a burning candle or immediately after it's been blown out.
- Ensure your candle is on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
- Protect the surface underneath the candle, no matter the material.
